Let’s Make a Difference for the Animals of aniMeals

Each morning I wake up to two furry, tail wagging creatures that never need a cup of coffee or iced tea (my favorite) to prepare for the new day.  They’re well rested and eagerly looking forward to their morning walk.

As the warmth & togetherness of the holiday season approaches, I can’t help but think about how thankful I am to share my life with Katie & Daisy. The love these two dogs show me each & every day makes me want to ensure others in the community can enjoy the same.

In honor of the large impact of little things, I’ve decided to hold a big donation drive for aniMeals, a Meals on Wheels program – and I’d love for you to be a part of it!

I’m doing this along with members of my Working with Dog pet business community to help animals in our own community and all around the world!

This year I’ll be collecting donations to benefit the Meals on Wheels program for pets, aniMeals.

I chose Meals on Wheels because they work to foster independence and dignity for homebound seniors in Montgomery County by providing them with nutritious meals, caring contacts, and transportation.

Pets play an important role in the lives of homebound seniors, offering daily love and companionship.  AniMeals was introduced in 2018 when volunteers reported that seniors were going hungry because they chose to feed their pets instead of themselves.

Y’all, no one should have to go hungry.

It takes a lot to provide the basics of animal care. Food, treats, and toys add up to thousands of dollars every year. To help this holiday season, I’ll be collecting the following items to donate to the aniMeals program:

  • Wet & dry dog food
  • Wet & dry cat food
  • Birdseed
  • Treats
  • Toys

Let’s do this together!

Instead of boring boxes sent by mail and opened by a single staff member or stashed in the corner for later, I think it would be so much FUN to fill up the front room of Meals on Wheels with a HUGE mountain of presents all at once.

This way we can share the giving spirit and holiday warmth with the many volunteers & pet owning seniors this holiday season.

So, as you head out to shop these next few weeks, please keep this wish list with you.

Purchase an item or two on each trip or go on a big shopping spree to Costco or Wal-Mart if you like.
